Zealearn is committed to protecting the privacy of users and complying with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the U.S. Department of Education Student Privacy Policy where applicable.
We collect and process: account information (name, email), course progress (completion status, scores, quiz results), course assignments, AI tutor session metadata, and documents you upload for training creation.
Education records are used to provide and improve the training platform, track learner progress, generate analytics for your organization, and deliver AI-powered course and tutor features.
Access is limited to you (your own data), organization administrators and team managers for legitimate educational purposes, and service providers who process data on our behalf under strict agreements.
We use OpenAI (AI course generation), LiveKit (AI tutor sessions), Beyond Presence/Anam (AI avatars), Stripe (payments), and email (SMTP). We require data processing agreements where applicable and minimize data shared.
We retain education records as needed to provide the service and as required by law. Audit logs are retained for at least five years for FERPA compliance. You may request deletion of your data via Settings or your administrator.
You have the right to inspect your education records, request amendment of inaccurate records, consent to disclosure of PII, and file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education. To file a complaint, visit the Student Privacy Complaint Process at ed.gov. To exercise your rights, use My Data in Settings or contact your organization administrator.
We use encryption in transit, secure authentication (e.g., HttpOnly cookies), access controls, and audit logging to protect education records.
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact your organization administrator or use the support options provided in the application.
